Notably, the Chinese model received Android 11 update back in February, which is now rolling out to the international model known as Redmi Note 9. The update is currently live for the global and Russian variants identified by firmware versions  V12.0.1.0.RJOMIXM  and V12.0.1.0.RJORUXM  respectively. Other than Android 11 goodies, the new build improves system security by installing May 2021 security patch.  As usual, the update is currently in stable beta phase, which means that it will initially reach a small percentage of users and then a broader rollout in the coming days. We can expect the OTA update to start hitting other regions pretty soon. Redmi Note 9 users can manually check for the new update by heading to Settings » About phone » System update.
